Zens Launches Hybrid Powerbank for MagSafe Users
Zens rolls out a powerbank mixing solid-state tech with traditional battery for MagSafe fans.

Battery tech. Always feels just a step away from a breakthrough, right? Promises of month-long laptop charges and room-wide wireless power haven't materialized. But Zens has taken a real step with their new Semi-Solid-State Powerbank, made for MagSafe users.
A Mix of Battery Tech
Solid-state batteries promise high energy density but often fall short on performance and lifespan. Zens aims to fix that by mixing solid-state tech with traditional batteries in their latest powerbank. They want more energy density without losing the performance and longevity users need.
Choose your size. The 5,000mAh model is just 8mm thick, and the 10,000mAh version is 1.4cm. Both slim enough for MagSafe. They support Qi 2.2 wireless charging, delivering up to 25W for iPhone 16 series and 15W for older models. Compatible with AirPods that do wireless charging.
Design and Real-World Use
It's sleek and dark gray, with rounded corners and a matte finish. Rubberized inside to protect your iPhone. Features Zens branding, five small LEDs for charge status, and a USB-C port.
On long rides or travel days, it doubles the battery life of an iPhone 16 Pro Max. Weighs 122g, about the same as an Apple MagSafe wallet.
Pass-through charging is a win. Charge the powerbank and phone with one cable.
Price and Availability
Zens calls this a premium product. $59.99 for the 5,000mAh, $79.99 for the 10,000mAh. It's more than basic batteries, but the design and features might be worth it for a compact, efficient charger.
- 5,000mAh: $59.99

Solid-State Battery Background
Solid-state batteries have been the 'next big thing' for a while, boasting higher energy densities without the liquid electrolytes of lithium-ion batteries. But production and performance hurdles have kept them out of the mainstream. Zens' hybrid approach might finally change that.
Still Unclear:
- How long does this hybrid battery last compared to others?
- Will competitors adopt similar tech?
- How does it handle extreme temperatures?
Why It Matters:
Battery life is a pain point. Even small gains matter. Zens' hybrid tech is practical for MagSafe users and could be a step forward in battery performance. Maybe we'll see those big promises fulfilled soon.
